Talk about a cāy joke.
Hannah Berner, who labeled Blake Lively the c-word in a new Netflix comedy special, says she supports the actress after the latter filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her āIt Ends With Usā co-star and director Justin Baldoni last week.
Berner, 33, joked about Lively being a ācātā in āTorching 2024: A Roast of the Year,ā a roast-style special hosted by Jeff Ross featuring comics bidding good riddance to 2024 āby throwing shade at the biggest moments of the past 12 months,ā per Netflix.
The former reality TV star-turned-comedian alluded to headlines about Lively, 37, that circulated around the time her movie āIt Ends With Usā hit theaters, which largely centered on her rumored feud with Baldoni and painted her as a āmean girl.ā
āThe word cāt was trending this year,ā Berner said in a clip from the comedy special, adding, āI donāt think Blake Lively was that bad.ā
āTorching 2024ā was recorded on Dec. 17, three days before Lively filed her lawsuit against Baldoni in which she accused him of sexual harassment and claimed he allegedly instigated a ācoordinatedā and public āsmearā campaign to ādestroy her reputation.ā
He denied the accusations.
Berner spoke out about the joke on Friday with a post shared on her Instagram story.
āMy joke in the Netflix roast was filmed before news of the lawsuit,ā Berner wrote. āTo be 100 percent clear, I support Blake xoxo[.]ā
The former āSummer Houseā star joked about other celebrities in her set, including Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly.
āMegan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly broke up. She claims she found disturbing material on his phone,ā Berner said. āIām guessing it was his new album.ā
The Post has reached out to reps for Berner.
Lively has seen an outpouring of public support since news of her lawsuit broke.
Her āThis Is Usā co-star Brandon Sklenar, 34, backed the actress on Monday, posting a link to a New York Times article about the legal filing Lively submitted.
āFor the love of god read this,ā wrote the actor, who played Livelyās childhood sweetheart Atlas Corrigan in the film adaptation of Colleen Hooverās best-selling novel.
On Tuesday, another of Livelyās co-stars, Jenny Slate, publicly stood up for the star.
āAs Blake Livelyās castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,ā Slate, 42, toldĀ āToday.ā
āBlake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her.ā
Slate added, āWhat has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing and wholly threatening. I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.ā
Baldoni has denied any wrongdoing.
In a statement given to The Post, Baldoniās lawyer, Bryan Freedman said, āIt is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt to āfixā her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions.
āThese claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media,ā Freedman added.
