That euphoric feeling.

“Euphoria” is officially in production for Season 3, HBO announced on Monday.

Taking to X, the network shared an ominous photo of Rue, played by Zendaya, looking over her shoulder toward the camera.

The core cast of “Euphoria,” including Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Colman Domingo, is slated to return for the third season, which, like Seasons 1 and 2, will be eight episodes long. Cast members Storm Reid and Barbie Ferreira have previously said they will not appear in any new episodes of the series.

Angus Cloud, who played fan favorite Fezco, died in July 2023 at the age of 25.

HBO did not share a premiere date for Season 3.

Monday’s announcement arrived almost three years after the Season 2 finale of “Euphoria,” which aired Feb. 27, 2022. The long interlude between seasons has been variously attributed to the pandemic, the writers and actors strikes, stars’ competing schedules and “Euphoria” creator and showrunner Sam Levinson’s work on his other series “The Idol.”

The Season 3 news also followed reports published in November that the show had been canceled. HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys denied the reports at the time.

“Nothing has changed — we are shooting ‘Euphoria’ … We have a start date: mid to late January,” he said at HBO’s presentation of its 2025 programming slate. “Somebody said something online and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We’re happy.”

Bloys added, “I know the show gets a lot of attention now because it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that they’re working on, but we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed.”

In terms of what fans can expect to see in Season 3, Levinson said in August 2023 that he imagines the installment as a “film noir,” adding that, through Rue, he planned to “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”

Zendaya also previously revealed that Season 3 would have a time jump. “It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with,” she told Entertainment Weekly in October.

“It will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school, and how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids affects the adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world,” added the star, who also serves as an executive producer on the show. “I’ll be interested to see what happens too.”

Since premiering in 2019, “Euphoria” has won nine Emmys, including two Outstanding Lead Actress trophies for Zendaya.
