Meghan Markle should be very afraid.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, got called out by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, for saying she looked like the horror icon when she used hair dye during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Elvira, whose real name is Cassandra Peterson, shared an Instagram with a screenshot of an Us Weekly article about Markle’s comment over the weekend, and included a dig at the “Suits” alum.
“Hey princess, if you ever need beauty advice from a queen just let me know 😏,” Peterson, 73, wrote.
Critics reacted to the new celebrity feud in the comments section of the post.
“Elvira … will alway be a lot more BEAUTIFUL then Megan could ever wish she could be,” one fan wrote.
“Elvira is the queen of cool✨️ Markle is as interesting as potato flake,” another person said.
“She could never be Elvira,” a different comment read.
Someone else wrote, “What on Earth did Elvira do to her? Rude.”
The Post has reached out to Markle’s reps for comment.
On the April 22 episode of her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast, Markle compared herself to Peterson while recalling the time she experimented with boxed hair dye during the 2020 lockdown.
“So, my family had just moved to California. We were staying in our friend’s home. And because it was the pandemic, I kept ordering boxed hair dye,” she recalled. “And I thought, ‘I’m gonna look just like she does on the box.”‘
“And instead,” Markle added, “it was this very inky, almost Elvira-esque black hair.”
Markle explained to her guest, Highbrow Hippie founder Kadi Lee, who opened a salon in Los Angeles when the pandemic happened, that she immediately reached out to their stylist, Serge Normant, for help.
“I had texted Serge, and he said you need to see Kadi, and you came over,” Markle recalled.
Lee said that arriving at Markle’s home while wearing masks for protection is “so vivid” in her mind. She also remembered getting “a big bear hug” from Markle and Prince Harry.
Markle isn’t the first star to face Peterson’s wrath.
Last year, Peterson said at an event that one of her worst celebrity encounters was with Ariana Grade. Peterson claimed the “Wicked” star, 31, once brought a large group to one of Peterson’s performances but refused to take a picture with her.
“I say to her, ‘Can we take a photo together?’ She goes, ‘Nah, I don’t really do that,’” Peterson shared.
Grande later apologized for the incident in an Instagram comment, claiming she had an anxiety attack at the show and left before the rest of her family.
