Things don’t look so bad for Elton John.

The legendary singer, 77, tried to clarify comments he’s made about his vision problems while performing his presenter duties at the 2025 Golden Globes.

“There’s been a lot of stories going around about my regressive eyesight,” John told the star-studded audience at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s big night, as he and Brandi Carlile took the stage to give out the award for best original score. “I just wanted to reassure everybody that It’s not as bad as it seems.”

“So, I’m so pleased to be here with my co-host Rihanna,” the “Rocket Man” singer then quipped to laughs from the guests inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles Sunday night.

The EGOT winner revealed in September that he lost his eyesight in his right eye after developing an infection last summer.

“I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye,” John wrote on Instagram at the time.

“It’s been a while since I’ve done anything. I just have to get off my backside,” John told Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” in November.

“I unfortunately lost my eyesight in my right eye in July because I had an infection in the South of France,” he went on. “It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see. My left eye is not the greatest.”

“There’s hope and encouragement that it will be OK, but I’m kind of stuck in the moment, because I can do something like this, but going into the studio and recording, I don’t know,” John continued. “Because I can’t see a lyric for start.”

“It kind of floored me, and I can’t see anything,” the superstar also confessed. “I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything.”

Regardless of his health woes, John described himself as “the luckiest man in the world.”

The “Benny and the Jets” singer has previously opened up about other health woes he’s battled over the years.

John has had several organs removed and has had knee and hip replacement surgeries.

He got a pacemaker in the 1990s for an irregular heartbeat, suffered a severe bout of influenza in 2009 that left him hospitalized, had an abscess discovered on his appendix in 2013 and endured a “gastric flu” in 2016.

Years of performing concerts around the world have also left him with hearing loss.
