Elton John is giving an update on his vision problems.

The EGOT winner, 77, revealed in an interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” on Monday that he can’t see out of his right eye after developing an infection over the summer, which has affected his ability to make new music.

“It’s been a while since I’ve done anything. I just have to get off my backside,” John said.

“I unfortunately lost my eye sight in my right eye in July because I had an infection in the South of France,” the music superstar continued. “It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see. My left eye is not the greatest.”

“There’s hope and encouragement that it will be okay,” John went on, “but I’m kind of stuck in the moment, because I can do something like this, but going into the studio and recording, I don’t know. Because I can’t see a lyric for start.”

The “Rocket Man” singer said he’s “taking an initiative” to treat his eye problems and that “it’s never fortunate for anything like this to happen.”

“It kind of floored me, and I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything,” he explained.

Despite his struggles, John called himself “the luckiest man in the world” during the interview, which he did to promote his upcoming documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late.”

“I’m so proud of the documentary. I’m proud of my sons. I’m proud of my attitude towards myself and what’s going on,” he said. “I’m just very lucky and I’m very grateful.”

The documentary, directed by R.J. Cutler and John’s husband, David Furnish, explores the legendary performer’s 50-year career leading up to his final North American show at Dodger Stadium in 2022. It begins streaming Dec. 13 on Disney+.

John previously opened up about his challenges with his vision in September.

He revealed on Instagram that he was battling a serious optic infection that left him with “limited vision” in one of his eyes.

“I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye,” John said.

The “I’m Still Standing” singer has had many health woes over the years. He’s had several organs removed and has undergone knee and hip replacement surgeries.

John also got a pacemaker fitted for an irregular heartbeat in the 1990s, was hospitalized for influenza and a bacterial infection in 2009, had an abscess that was discovered on his appendix in 2013, and suffered “gastric flu” in 2016.

He has also dealt with hearing loss caused by years of touring.

In 2021, friends of John’s told The Post they were worried about the singer before the next stretch of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour that he finally wrapped last year.

“He is not Superman,” one musician, who has known John for decades, told The Post at the time. “He should be at home with his kids and his husband, not stuck on the road. I worry that he won’t finish this tour.”

Amid his personal woes, John’s also had a tough time professionally. His $25 million Broadway show “Tammy Faye” announced its closing date only five days after opening night. The show will take its final bow on Dec. 8.

The Post theater critic Johnny Oleksinski gave the musical one star. In his review, he called the show “amateurish with lots of dead air and little focus.”
