Chasing rainbows.
Ellen DeGeneres took to Instagram on Monday to share a rare glimpse of her life in England after ditching the US last year.
“3 things that make me happy,” DeGeneres, 67, wrote alongside a picture of her wife, Portia de Rossi, taking a picture of a double rainbow across the English countryside. “My Wife. A Rainbow. And my wife taking a photograph of a Rainbow.”
The former talk show host’s touching photo of de Rossi, 52, and the double rainbow was flooded with comments from fans and followers of the famous couple.
“Aw how lovely,” one fan wrote. “I hope ur settling into the UK.”
“Nothing tops this,” added another, “love, light, and a rainbow.”
“It’s the Pope sliding along the double rainbow and having fun, like the little kid he was at heart,” a third Instagram follower wrote, referencing the death of Pope Francis at 88 on Monday morning. “Heaven is Happy He’s Home.”
“We’ve had lots of beautiful rainbows in the Cotswolds today,” yet another fan of DeGeneres commented.
DeGeneres and her “Arrested Development” alum wife allegedly fled the US for England shortly after President Donald Trump won his re-election bid in November 2024.
Although neither the comedian nor de Rossi ever publicly revealed the reason for their sudden move to the UK, the couple did sell their two-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Montecito, Calif., last month after asking nearly $5 million for the property.
DeGeneres and de Rossi have since settled into a sprawling $18 million farmhouse in the Cotswolds, a ritzy neighborhood in the affluent area of South West England where other A-listers like David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and Hugh Grant also own homes.
The couple celebrated 20 years together at their new Cotswold home on March 19, and DeGeneres shared a sweet snap of herself and de Rossi with the South West England sky in the background.
“20 years together,” the former television host wrote. “Happy to be with you everywhere and always.”
But the pair’s UK move hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows, because DeGeneres and de Rossi allegedly clashed with some of their new Cotswolds neighbors over an extension “breach” at their multimillion-dollar home.
Meanwhile, some Cotswolds residents reportedly spotted DeGeneres at a UK hotspot shortly after she and de Rossi decided to pack up and move across the pond.
“She was with two female friends walking from the car park towards the buildings where the clubhouse is – we passed on a stone bridge over a stream,” a source told Us Weekly. “She was dressed in a country casual way.”
“She was super understated and no one was really paying much attention to her,” the resident added, “but then you just don’t expect to see Ellen there as it’s more a haunt of UK celebrities.”
Although the person said that DeGeneres is “still famous,” she added that the comedian is “definitely a lot less well-known” in the UK.
“People know who she is, but the thing about the Cotswolds is no one gives a f–k if you’re Kate Moss or the farmer’s wife,” they said.
