Itβs a fumble for the Kelce brothers with this Christmas gift.
On the Tuesday episode of Jason Kelce and Travis KelceβsΒ βNew Heightsβ podcast, a fan turned to the brothers for advice on when, βif ever,β is an appropriate time to let your partner know that theyβre a βbad gift giver.β
The co-hosts took the opportunity to reflect on one particular childhood memory.
Jason, 37, and Travis, 35, told the listener to βsay somethingβ to their significant other because the situation βsounds like an issue.β
βMom,Β Donna Kelce, had to deal with Christmas upon Christmas of the same gifts,β Jason added.
Kylie Kelce β who tied the knot with Jason in 2018 β was a guest on the episode and knew exactly what the brothersβ routine was. βEarrings and candles,β she said.
Jason said he and Travis would gift their mom earrings, candles and βpistachio nutsβ every Christmas for their βwhole childhoodβ before Donna, 72, eventually chimed in with how she really felt.
βShe said, βYou guys donβt have to get me the same thing every Christmas,’β Jason admitted to his wife.
Travis chimed in, βYeah, but what do you get a mom that has everything she ever needs?β
Jason told the caller honesty was the best policy and to βjust say you donβt like them,β but in a positive way.
βJust say, βHey, I think I would appreciate something more sentimental,’β the ESPN analyst explained. βJust say what you like, donβt say what you donβt like.β
As for a womanβs perspective? Kylie told the listener to βbe gentle about itβ and βplant seedsβ about potential items on your wish list βahead of timeβ to give your partner ideas.
Meanwhile, Travis and Jasonβs dad, Ed Kelce, had gift-giving efforts that made a lasting impression on the athletes.
On the Dec. 18 episode of their podcast, the brothers shared that Ed βused to take a second job around the holidaysβ at a Seeβs Candies store.
βSo, Dad would take the second job in order to buy gifts for Travis and I because he needed more money around the holidays to buy the gifts that Travis and I were asking for,β Jason revealed to listeners during the episode, calling Ed βthe ultimate dad.β
Meanwhile, this holiday season was an extra special one for Donna, who made her acting debut in two movies: βChristmasΒ on Callβ and βHoliday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.β
InΒ βChristmas on Call,β Donna supported Jasonβs former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, while βHoliday Touchdownβ showed the mom of two repping Travisβ current team, theΒ Kansas City Chiefs.
βHoliday Touchdownβ was also inspired by her sonβs romance with Taylor Swift.
If the pairΒ were to tie the knot, the pop star would have a ball with Donna as her MIL, according to actress Hunter King, who stars in βHoliday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Storyβ alongside the NFLβs most popular matriarch.
βSheβs just full of love and sheβs got great taste in candy. I turned her on to a Nerd gummy cluster, which she loved,β Hunter told The Post last month.
βEveryone adored her. Everyone just couldnβt wait till she showed up β¦ The energy was always pretty up β¦ but then when Donna was on set, everyone was just really, really excited.β
Tyler Hynes, who plays Kingβs love interest, called Donna βa queen sent from heavenβ and said she did not need any acting advice.
βThereβs nothing we could teach her. Sheβs teaching me how to act. She was crazy good,β he gushed.
βSheβs perfect on camera. She needs no tips,β agreed Hunter, 31, an alum of βTheΒ Young and the Restless,β who has starred inΒ multiple Hallmark movies.
