D.L. Hughley’s not laughing.
The comedian has blasted Snoop Dogg for how he responded to the backlash over his performance at one of Donald Trump’s inauguration events.
Hughley, 61, aired his views on Snoop during Monday’s episode of his podcast, “The D.L. Hughley Show.”
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper, who had previously been one of Trump’s more fiery critics, shocked many of his fans when he performed at Trump’s Crypto Ball on Jan. 17, the Friday before the former “Apprentice” host’s second inauguration. Snoop addressed the distress on Sunday on Instagram Live, in which he criticized the Black community for “pulling each other down.”
“That’s what we great at as Black people,” he said. “We great at tearing each other down.”
In a clip from his podcast posted on Instagram, Hughley took umbrage at Snoop’s characterization, saying, “You need to talk to the 2017 version of you,” adding, “You need to have a conversation with the man in the mirror,” alluding to the “Gin & Juice” rapper’s past criticism of Trump.
“I think most people are disappointed because they saw you as specific way,” Hughley said while acknowledging that Snoop has a “right” to perform at Trump’s event.
“No one’s begrudging you that,” the King of Comedy conceded. “But why the attack on the community because they disagree with something you did?”
“But it’s us that have the problem. It’s us that are wrong. It is us that can’t stick together.”
Citing the Black community’s overwhelming support for former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, Hughley said, “We stuck together. We decided that this was a man who was bad for our community.
“We didn’t try to tear each other apart. We tried to protect each other. And the very man who we knew would do the very things he’s doing, you decided to entertain. It isn’t anger or hate. It is honestly people being disappointed.
“And if you’re so angry about the backlash you’re getting, you need to talk to the 2017 version of you,” the star went on, referring to remarks Snoop made in 2017, threatening to “roast” anyone who performed at Trump’s first inauguration.
“So it isn’t us that you have a problem with. It is you. The 2025 version of you is at odds with the 2017 version of you.”
The “Scary Movie 3” actor continued, “You need to have a conversation with the man in the mirror. What is so different about the 2017 Snoop and the 2025 Snoop? It ain’t us. We ain’t in it.
“This is an inner turmoil. You don’t need to look at the community, look in the mirror.”
In 2017, Snoop took to Instagram to voice his opinion of musicians who were considering performing at Trump’s first inauguration.
“So ain’t no one gonna perform for Donald Trump huh?” the rapper said. “Which one of you j—boo a– n—-s gone be the first one to do it?”
“I’m waiting,” he continued. “I’m gonna roast the f–k out of one of you uncle tom a– n—-s for doing it.”
Snoop also criticized his fans who supported Trump during an interview in 2018 on DJ Suss One’s SiriusXM show.
“I tell them straight up, motherf–ker, if you like that n—–, you motherf–king racist,” he said. “F–k you, and f–k him.”
The hitmaker had a change of heart in 2021 after Trump pardoned Death Row Records co-founder Harry-O, who served 33 years on charges of attempted murder.
Following his performance at Trump’s Crypto Ball, Snoop lost a significant number of social media followers — more than 500,000 on Instagram and nearly 20,000 on X.
