Keep the good vibrations coming for Carnie Wilson.
The singer, 57, revealed she was recently hospitalized with complications from her lap-band removal surgery.
“OK, the official update. My daughter’s getting a prescription for me right now, but I am out of the hospital,” Wilson shared with fans in an Instagram video on Thursday. “I had my lap-band surgery, it was a great success.”
Lap-band surgery “involves placing a silicone band called the Lap-Band around your stomach. The gastric band reduces your stomach capacity and slows the passage of food through your stomach,” according to the Cleveland Clinic.
“I had some swelling in the legs that kept getting worse,” Wilson noted. “Needed to go back into the hospital because of high blood pressure. It was very scary, but after a couple of days there, we changed the meds. And the swelling has gone down and, like, almost gone.”
“I am finally over this hump, recovering from my lap-band surgery, lap-band removal,” she added.
Wilson went on to explain that it was “intense and they found an ulcer in there.”
“It doesn’t surprise me with all the stress I’ve had this year,” the actress, who lost her dad, Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson, in June, admitted.
“They actually found an obstruction with food inside the lap band,” Wilson detailed.
As the Cleveland Clinic website explains, when food is “stuck in the outlet between your stomach pouch (stomach above the band) and lower stomach,” it causes “a blockage.”
Hearing what the doctors found “makes me want to barf,” Wilson shared, adding, “I’m so grateful right now and so lucky.”
“It really put a new perspective on some health things for me,” said Wilson. “So I’m recovering. It’s going great, and I love you guys and I appreciate if anybody had said any prayers or anything, so thank you and … on the mend!”
“ON THE MEND!!!! Yay!!!!” the star captioned her post.
The Wilson Phillips artist first shared she was going under the knife in an Instagram post on Sept. 16.
She wrote beneath a picture of her in a hospital bed, “Bye bye lap band!!!!!! Surgery Tommorow!! We are getting it out!!!!!”
Wilson has been vocal over the years about her body struggles.
She underwent gastric bypass surgery in 1999 and lap band surgery afterwards.
In April 2024, Wilson told People that she gave up sugar and gluten and lost 45 lbs. She also confessed to having a healthier relationship with food.
“I feel so much better,” Wilson gushed. “I treat my body with respect now.”
The Hollywood vet has been no stranger to living her ups and downs in the public eye after forming the pop group Wilson Phillips in 1989 with her sister Wendy and Chynna Phillips.
This past June, the sisters lost their dad to respiratory arrest.
“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away,” his family shared on Instagram at the time. “We are at a loss for words right now.”
“I have no words to express the sadness I feel right now,” Wilson shared in an emotional Instagram tribute. “My Father @brianwilsonlive was every fiber of my body. He will be remembered by millions and millions until the world ends. I am lucky to have been his daughter and had a soul connection with him that will live on always.”
She added that she’s “never felt this kind of pain before.”
“But I know he’s resting up there in heaven,” continued Wilson, “or maybe playing the piano for Grandma Audree his Mom. I will post something else soon but this is all my hands will let me type.”
“I love you Daddy … I miss [you so much] already,” she affectionately concluded.
