A new βIt Ends With Usβ conspiracy theory is spreading on the internet.
The online speculation is over Blake Lively and Justin Baldoniβs dance scene in the film. Lively, 37, has claimed in her lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, that she was the victim of βunwanted touchingβΒ by her co-star and director in the scene.
Over the weekend, an X user shared a clip of Livelyβs dance scene with Ryan Reynolds in their 2011 film βGreen Lanternβ and called out its alleged similarities to the βIt Ends With Usβ footage.
βI noticed that about 30 mins into the film, thereβs a scene where Lively and Reynolds characters dance in a bar in an almost identical way to the slow dance scene from IEWU,β the fan wrote.
She said the βonly differenceβ between the two scenes is that Lively and her husband are talking in βGreen Lantern,β whereas Lively and Baldoni are nonverbal in their dance footage that was used as part of a montage in βIt Ends With Us.β
βCould it be possible that Lively was trying to recreate the scene to be similar to the scene she did with her husband when she fell in love with him?β the fan asked. βDid she rewrite the scene to mirror the details of the dance? Is this what she means when she says her husband is βall over this movieβ? Did Reynolds see this and get jealous because it hit a nerve?β
Other fans reacted to the alleged connection between Livelyβs two movies.
βGreat observation!! Even down to the twirl!β one fan wrote on X.
βGood detective work,β someone else said.
βWow thatβs insane, great catch!β a third person wrote.
The Post has reached out to reps for Lively, Reynolds and Baldoni.
Reynolds and Lively met in 2010 on the set of βGreen Lanternβ and got married two years later. They have four children together.
Lively, who is at the center of a bombshell legal battle with Baldoni, has confirmed that Reynolds was involved in the creative end of βIt Ends With Us.β
βThe iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that, but you now,β she told E! News last year.
βWe help each other, we work together so muchβ¦ he works on everything I do, I work on everything he does, so his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his,β she added.
The βGossip Girlβ alum filed her lawsuitΒ against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexually harassing her on the set of their film and allegedly orchestrating a smear campaign against her.
Baldoni, who has denied all of Livelyβs claims,Β countersued Lively, Reynolds and their publicistΒ for $400 millionΒ on various claims includingΒ civil extortion, defamation and false light invasion of privacy. Lively and Reynolds have denied Baldoniβs accusations.
To refute Livelyβs sexual harassment claims, Baldoni released raw footageΒ from the βIt Ends With Usβ dance scene last month.
In her lawsuit, Lively alleged that during a βslow dance scene,β Baldoni βleaned forward and slowly dragged his lips from her ear and down her neck as he said, βit smells so good.ββ In the footage of the scene in question shared by Baldoniβs lawyer, Lively can be heard joking that sheβs βprobably getting spray tan onβ Baldoni, who laughs and replies, βIt smells good.β Lively replied, βWell, itβs not that. Itβs my body makeup.β
Baldoniβs lawyer released a title card alongside the raw footage that said, βThe scene in question was designed to show the two characters falling in love and longing to be close to one another. Both actors are clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism.β
But Livelyβs team stated that the footage is evidence that Lively was the victim of βunwanted touchingβ at the hands of her co-star.
Her representatives also blasted Baldoni for releasing the footage in the first place, calling it βan unethical attempt to manipulate the public.β
Lively and Baldoniβs trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026.
