A new “It Ends With Us” conspiracy theory is spreading on the internet.
The online speculation is over Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s dance scene in the film. Lively, 37, has claimed in her lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, that she was the victim of “unwanted touching” by her co-star and director in the scene.
Over the weekend, an X user shared a clip of Lively’s dance scene with Ryan Reynolds in their 2011 film “Green Lantern” and called out its alleged similarities to the “It Ends With Us” footage.
“I noticed that about 30 mins into the film, there’s a scene where Lively and Reynolds characters dance in a bar in an almost identical way to the slow dance scene from IEWU,” the fan wrote.
She said the “only difference” between the two scenes is that Lively and her husband are talking in “Green Lantern,” whereas Lively and Baldoni are nonverbal in their dance footage that was used as part of a montage in “It Ends With Us.”
“Could it be possible that Lively was trying to recreate the scene to be similar to the scene she did with her husband when she fell in love with him?” the fan asked. “Did she rewrite the scene to mirror the details of the dance? Is this what she means when she says her husband is ‘all over this movie’? Did Reynolds see this and get jealous because it hit a nerve?”
Other fans reacted to the alleged connection between Lively’s two movies.
“Great observation!! Even down to the twirl!” one fan wrote on X.
“Good detective work,” someone else said.
“Wow that’s insane, great catch!” a third person wrote.
The Post has reached out to reps for Lively, Reynolds and Baldoni.
Reynolds and Lively met in 2010 on the set of “Green Lantern” and got married two years later. They have four children together.
Lively, who is at the center of a bombshell legal battle with Baldoni, has confirmed that Reynolds was involved in the creative end of “It Ends With Us.”
“The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that, but you now,” she told E! News last year.
“We help each other, we work together so much… he works on everything I do, I work on everything he does, so his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his,” she added.
The “Gossip Girl” alum filed her lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexually harassing her on the set of their film and allegedly orchestrating a smear campaign against her.
Baldoni, who has denied all of Lively’s claims, countersued Lively, Reynolds and their publicist for $400 million on various claims including civil extortion, defamation and false light invasion of privacy. Lively and Reynolds have denied Baldoni’s accusations.
To refute Lively’s sexual harassment claims, Baldoni released raw footage from the “It Ends With Us” dance scene last month.
In her lawsuit, Lively alleged that during a “slow dance scene,” Baldoni “leaned forward and slowly dragged his lips from her ear and down her neck as he said, ‘it smells so good.’” In the footage of the scene in question shared by Baldoni’s lawyer, Lively can be heard joking that she’s “probably getting spray tan on” Baldoni, who laughs and replies, “It smells good.” Lively replied, “Well, it’s not that. It’s my body makeup.”
Baldoni’s lawyer released a title card alongside the raw footage that said, “The scene in question was designed to show the two characters falling in love and longing to be close to one another. Both actors are clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism.”
But Lively’s team stated that the footage is evidence that Lively was the victim of “unwanted touching” at the hands of her co-star.
Her representatives also blasted Baldoni for releasing the footage in the first place, calling it “an unethical attempt to manipulate the public.”
Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026.
