Jude Law wishes that he auditioned for more roles that relied on his “good looks.”

“I didn’t feel like I really ever leaned into playing handsome, but there were roles that required an attractive energy,” the 51-year-old actor told DuJour magazine in an interview published June 10.

The seasoned actor has played leading roles in movies such as “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “The Holiday” and “Alfie.”

“I was trying to play against my looks in my early 20s, and now I’m saggy and balding,” he went on. “I wish I had played it up more.”

Currently, Law is playing King Henry VIII in “Firebrand,” which will be released in theaters on June 14.

In the film, Law transforms himself into the past king of England, who was known to have a large belly and a rotting leg towards the end of his life.

The “Fantastic Beasts” franchise star had to change his facial features and wear a weighted costume, a feathered hat, a gray scruffy beard and perfume that made him smell bad.

“I was trying to play against my looks in my early 20s, and now I’m saggy and balding. I wish I had played it up more,” Law said.

“I read several interesting accounts that you could smell Henry three rooms away. His leg was rotting so badly. He hid it with rose oil,” Law said at the Cannes Film Festival, according to Variety. “I thought it would have a great impact if I smelt awful.”

King Henry VIII suffered a leg ulcer following a jousting accident, so Law went to a perfume specialist who would be willing to create a personalized scent for the role.

“She makes wonderful scents, and she also makes awful scents. She somehow came up with this extraordinary variety of blood, fecal matter and sweat,” Law shared.

Law told DuJour it was refreshing to “have not leaned in to any sort of attraction,” saying that “it’s been satisfying not having to turn that switch on.”

The actor’s son, Rafferty Law, is also making a name for himself in Hollywood. The 27-year-old recently starred in “Masters of the Air,” on Apple TV+ this year, alongside Austin Butler, Callum Turner and Barry Keoghan.

“I’m thrilled because we get to share our enthusiasm, and I get to give him advice if he wants to hear it,” the “Sherlock Holmes” actor said about his son. “I’m immensely proud that he’s put himself out there because he found something that he loves. He’s obviously seen the way I work, and it’s rubbed off on him.”

Although the “Hugo” actor is proud, he does have mixed feelings about Raff getting into Hollywood.

“It’s complicated, because I’m aware of how hard it is,” he explained. “When I came into this business, I didn’t have the comparison, but with him, people might always say, ‘Oh, you’re just like your dad.’ Which is nonsense; his career is his career.”

Up next, Law will star in Disney+’s new “Star Wars” series, “Skeleton Crew,” which will be released later this year.
