What’s the secret to having things heat up outside the villa?
Well, according to “Love Island USA” host Ariana Madix, it can be hard to make relationships last post-season.
“Well, you never know, because in the villa things are so condensed and you’re living together, right? And of course, when real life starts happening, it’s tough for any relationship, regardless of how you even met,” the Broadway star, 40, exclusively told The Post while on the 35th Environmental Media Awards green carpet.
Season 7 of the hit Peacock show saw Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales split a month after winning the dating competition in August.
Iris Kendall and Pepe Garcia-Gonzalez also went their separate ways once cameras went down.
Despite hosting a dating show where romances could get a bit rocky, Madix is happily coupled up with her boyfriend Dan Wai. The pair first got together in 2023, following the “VPR” alum’s split from ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval.
Madix couldn’t help but gush over her other half and their strong bond.
“Honestly, I think that I see a lot of funny memes and TikToks that I’ll send him that basically say the same thing: me being my most annoying, my weirdest, my most whatever self and he just absolutely loves me,” she sweetly shared. “So I feel like instead of hiding parts of yourself or trying to be a certain way to be lovable, everyone is lovable and to just lean into who they are, and that person will love you even more for it.”
Along with thriving in her personal life, the bombshell is also booked and busy when it comes to her incredible career.
Madix starred as Roxie Hart in the musical “Chicago” on Broadway — not once, but twice.
The author first made her Broadway debut in January 2024, with the 10-week run concluding on April 7. Madix starring in “Chicago” broke box office records for the Ambassador.
The award show host then returned to the stage from August 1 to August 27, 2024 for a limited run.
Now, Madix has her sights set on being the dancing queen in another hit Broadway classic.
“‘Mamma Mia!’ was the first, if not one of the first shows I ever saw on Broadway when it initially came in like 2002,” she fondly reminisced. “And I love ABBA and I love that show. And literally I could just be like a towns person. I could carry a prop and I’d be happy.”
When she’s not performing, the “Will Trent” actress is also busy running her West Hollywood sandwich shop, Something About Her, with former “Vanderpump Rules” co-star and bestie, Katie Maloney.
And she’d love to see the business do an eco-friendly collab involving monarch butterflies.
“I know our monarch butterflies are struggling and that would be something really lovely,” mused Madix. “I feel like it really fits with all the things that we love in the shop. And I’m actually going to buy some milkweed and plant a bunch of that at my house because I want to save the butterflies.”
She added, “They’re very endangered.”
Madix also took a moment to reflect on the late Diane Keaton, who died at the age of 79 Saturday.
The iconic actress visited Something About Her, with Madix and Maloney, 38, even naming a sandwich after Keaton.
“I also have a very good friend of mine, Meredith, who had the pleasure meeting her in the past as well,” explained Madix. “She just had the most amazing experience meeting her. And honestly, to me, what comes to mind is just so many of her iconic film roles and her iconic fashion sense.”
“I, too, love a turtleneck,” she continued. “And I just think that she’s such an icon. And she’s going to be greatly missed.”
Along with throwing on a Keaton classic, in her free time, Madix is also tuning into Season 34 of “Dancing with the Stars.”
The singer competed on the ABC series herself during Season 32, placing third alongside partner Pasha Pashkov.
Now, Madix is rooting for everyone.
“I’m loving Elaine [Hendrix] and Allen [Bersten] right now,” she confessed. “That space mountain dance had me super, super stoked. I think this season is so stacked, because even though Andy [Richter] was at the bottom of the leaderboard, I feel like he has such a joy when he dances and I want to watch him stay in the competition going.”
“And then you have Alix Earle, and you have Whitney [Leavitt] who literally look like pros,” Madix added. “I always wish they would do a season where no one goes home and it’s just like ranked at the end. That’s what I want to see! ‘No One Goes Home Stars!’”
