A$AP Rocky has spoken.
The “Praise the Lord” rapper appeared to diss fellow hip hop star Drake on his newly released album “Don’t Be Dumb.”
After Rocky, 37, dropped the record on Friday, fans suggested that the track “Stole Ya Flow” was about Drake and Rihanna’s rumored relationship – and how Rocky “stole” the “Umbrella” singer from the “Degrassi” alum.
“First you stole my flow, so I stole your bitch,” the “Fashion Killa” artist rapped during the chorus. “I can’t trust a soul, just my pole and my kids / Swear to never lie, cross my heart, hope to die / Then I sold the switch, then I hit it with a kiss.”
“Now I’m a father, my bitch badder than my toddler / My baby mama Rihanna, so we unbothered,” Rocky added later on in the track.
Rihanna, 37, and Drake, 39, first sparked romance rumors in 2009. Although the pair never officially confirmed their rumored relationship, they were linked on and off from 2009 to 2016.
The speculation came to a head in 2016 when Drake professed his love for the “Don’t Stop the Music” singer during that year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” he said before kissing Rihanna. “She’s one of my best friends in the world. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.”
“What’s most impressive isn’t the endlessness of stats, awards and accomplishments – what’s most impressive is the person,” Drake added while presenting the pop superstar with the Video Vanguard Award.
Rihanna later said that she felt “uncomfortable” during Drake’s speech.
“Waiting through that speech was probably the most uncomfortable part,” she told Vogue in 2018. “I don’t like too many compliments; I don’t like to be put on blast.”
“We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either,” she added regarding her and Drake’s relationship. “It is what it is.”
Rocky and Rihanna, meanwhile, were first linked in November 2020 before the rapper confirmed their relationship during a chat with GQ published in May 2021.
“So much better when you got the One,” Rocky, who also referred to Rihanna as the “love of my life” and “my lady” during the interview, said. “She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones.”
“I think when you know, you know,” he added. “She’s the One.”
Although the “Punky Rocky” rapper has hinted that he and Rihanna are married, it is unclear if the couple has tied the knot.
They do, however, share three kids: sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, as well as daughter Rocki, who was born this past September.
As for whether “Stole Ya Flow” was a diss track aimed at Drake, Rocky provided some insight regarding the matter during Thursday’s episode of The New York Times podcast “Popcast.”
“I think we all know,” he teased. “It’s for whoever feels like it’s about them.”
The “Don’t Be Dumb” artist went on to touch upon what went wrong between the former friends and collaborators.
“I don’t know,” Rocky explained. “I started just seeing people who started out as friends and just became foes. Seemed like they were unhappy for you and just started sending shots. I think that’s what led to any of our misunderstandings or whatever the case is.”
“It don’t even need to be,” he added regarding a possible reunion between him and Drake. “Like, for what?”
